Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said on Tuesday that the electric car maker's public test rides of driverless taxis are tentatively scheduled to begin in Austin, Texas later in June, and that other Tesla vehicles will also begin autonomous deliveries later this month.

When asked when the public test rides of driverless taxis will be available, Musk posted on the X platform that it is "tentatively scheduled for June 22."

"We are very cautious about safety issues, so the date may be adjusted. The first Tesla that drives fully autonomously from the end of the factory production line to the customer's home will be unveiled on June 28th."

Musk shared a video on the X platform earlier on Tuesday showing Tesla testing driverless vehicles on Austin roads without human supervisors in the car. The current testing of Tesla's fully autonomous driving technology appears to involve the Model Y, rather than the CyberCab driverless taxi launched by the electric car maker last year.
