Standard Chartered Bank released a forecast on the 6th that the price of the cryptocurrency Binance Coin (BNB) will rise sharply to US$2,775 by the end of 2028.

This prediction means that BNB will rise by about 4.5 times from its current price of around $600.

Jeffrey Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered Bank, said that as the utility token of Binance, a large cryptocurrency exchange, BNB's price movements are highly correlated with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

In addition, BNB is also used for transaction fee discounts, transfers on the BNB chain, and decentralized finance (DeFi) such as PancakeSwap.

Coupled with the regular token burn mechanism, which reduces market supply, it helps maintain its value.

This prediction is made precisely because BNB is considered a “benchmark asset” alongside major virtual currencies.

The analysis also predicts that BNB will rise to $1,275 by the end of 2025, which is a 110.5% increase based on the current BNB price of $605.6.

This forecast takes into account the token destruction mechanism that supports the supply reduction, as well as network upgrades such as the "Maxwell hard fork" expected in June 2025, which will enhance the BNB chain's future developer activity and ability to compete with competing chains.

On the other hand, there are only 45 verification nodes in the BNB chain, which is relatively small, reflecting that its ecosystem has a certain centralized structure, which may limit the freedom of developers.

Additionally, BNB has certain disadvantages in terms of decentralization and developer innovation compared to more decentralized competing chains such as Ethereum or Avalanche (AVAX).

Recently, VanEck has submitted an application for a BNB spot ETF (exchange-traded fund).

In addition, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) also proposed that the Kyrgyz Republic use Bitcoin and BNB as part of the country’s digital asset reserves.

The increase in international attention also supports the market's expectations for BNB's long-term growth.
